3rd International Student’s Conference

«Study and Achieve»

22 – 29 March, 2010

History of the Student’s Conference

The idea to organize a Student’s Conference originated in 2006 together with our colleagues and partners from Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg (TU-FGA).

In June 2007, first international student’s seminar “Freiberg week in Moscow” was organized at MISIS with participation of the professors and students from TU-FGA. German was working language at the seminar.

The organization of the seminar:

  1. Eestablished mutual trust environment among students, provided an opportunity to exchange experience and learned more about student’s scientific works of each other;
  2. established new scientific contacts and friendship between German and Russian students;
  3. provided opportunity to tour MISIS scientific centers and laboratories and discuss areas of the overlapped interest.

After successful meeting in 2007, it was decided to organize International Student’s Conference “STUDY and ACHIEVE”, which took place at MISIS on June 2008. More than 60 students and Ph.D students from MISIS, TU-FGA, Technical University Ilmenau, and Norwegian University of Science and Technology took part in the conference and 47 papers have been presented. English and German were the working languages. The main achievement of the conference was a possibility for Russian student to present their own scientific work in the form of oral presentation on foreign language, while students from foreign countries get opportunity to learn more about science in Russia and MISIS.

The organization of the present conference is the continuation of a good tradition.
