V. Lopatin had graduated Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys in 1986.
This year he had began postgraduate education in Rare Metals and Powder Metallurgy Department. In 1990 V. Lopatin had defended thesis "The technology and properties of composite metal matrix materials containing hollow microspheres".
V. Lopatin is lecturer in Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys from 1992, assistant professor – from 1994, associate professor – from 1996.
Subjects of scientific interests: theory of sintering of powder composite materials, high-porosity materials including materials based on hollow microspheres, combined processes of oxide reducing and sintering of metal phase.
V. Lopatin is co-author of textbook "Powder Metallurgy Processes".
