On November 21, 5 p.m., NUST MISIS will held a lecture “Materials for medicine. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”. The lecturer is PhD in Physics and Math, Fyodor Senatov, research engineer at NUST MISIS Center of Composite Materials, Professor of Physical Chemistry Department, CEO of “Biomimetix” company.
Materials and technologies used in medicine are developing very fast. New materials with properties that seemed fantastic 10 years ago, are being developed nowadays. During the lecture, the issue of transformation from classical approaches of medical material sciences towards new trends, such as 3D and 4D printing, Smart materials, bioresorbable polymers and metalls, biomimetics, proteomic and cellular technologies, will be discussed.
The problem of constructing an “ideal” implant will be considered. High-strength joint endoprostheses, application of antibacterial coatings using supercritical fluids, self-absorbable implants individualized for a particular patient — this is only part of the development aimed at increasing the duration and quality of life. At the lecture you will be able to learn what are the successes of Russian scientists in the field of biomaterial science.
The lecture is aimed at school students and everyone interested in physics.
